Module Database, DLC series

DLC series:

Series overview: Each of these three compilations, combines four modules from the DL series. In each case, the modules corresponding to one novel.

Personal note

Dragon lance and me donít get along. I joined late and failed to see the mystery. I liked the books because it was pulp fantasy that was easy on the eyes. The longer in the series you get the worse these modules become, as they follow the books you get locked into story lines that your party may not want. I have left out all but the collections, mostly out of respect for the DL fans, I am sure they donít want to see me bleat on about how I don't 'get' Dragonlance. Its clearly popular with people so if youíre a sensitive soul miss the next notes J

DLC1: Dragonlance Classics, Vol. 1 (DL1-DL4)

Setting: AD&D 2nd Edition, Dragonlance

Characters: ? of levels 3-8

Year: 1992

Personal notes

Well its better than DLC2, to be fair it starts well and looks like it may well have a chance. Gets ropey in the second adventure and downright rigid in the third and fourth. I am of the opinion that the books had not been written when the first couple of adventurers were tested at TSR, I think the books came about because of the gaming group, this would explain why DL1 is more of a proper adventure than the latter ones. One of Dragonlance great strengths and also one of its great weaknesses are the pre generated characters, most groups do not like having characters thrust upon them, there is also the small fact that from the outset the books cut very clear characters out for the pre generated PC's and leaves the player with little in the way of development space.

DLC2: Dragonlance Classics, Vol. 2 (DL6-DL9)

Characters: ? of levels 6-15

Written by: TSR Staff
