Module Database, WG seriesWG series: Series overview: Modules WG1-WG3 were never published. In fact, WG1 and WG2 were the original books in the World of Greyhawk Boxed Set (the Glossography and the World Book). WG3 was the original (intended, but never published as such) designation for S4. Note that WG4 is the sequel to S4.
WG4: Forgotten Temple of Tharizdun Setting: AD&D 1st Edition, Greyhawk Characters: for levels 5-10 Written by: Gary Gygax Year: 1982 New spells: None New magical items: Beads of Force New creatures: Annis (MMII 9, MoM 182), Boggart (MMII 19) What you get: 32 page booklet with 2 covers Summary: With gnomish aid, the PCs search for an abandoned temple. Note: This module follows on from S4: Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth Personal notes As a follow up to S4 this is baffling but lets crack on with opinions. Yet more good wilderness action, the actual attack on the temple is not that great being an excuse to get out figures and roll doce for about a month. The temple is hardly inspiring but it will do. The end with the lame excuse to add lightsabres and the apple trees is one of the low points in the adventure. Itís a poor follow up to S4 WG5: Mordenkainen's Fantastic Adventure Setting: AD&D 1st Edition, Greyhawk Characters: ? of levels 9-12 Written by: Gary Gygax and Robert Kuntz Year: 1980? WG6: Isle of the Ape Setting: AD&D 1st Edition, Greyhawk Characters: 6 of levels 18+ Written by: Gary Gygax Year: 1985 New spells: Serpent Missile, Log to Lizard New magical items: None New creatures: Gargantuan Ape What you get: 48 page booklet, a cover with fold-out map and a full-color map Summary: The PCs quest to a mysterious island where lies the fabled Crown of Rao.
WG7: Castle Greyhawk Setting: AD&D 1st Edition, Greyhawk Characters: ? of levels 0-25 [?] Notes: Castle Greyhawk is 12 comic-relief dungeons with a connecting plots. Personal notes Comedy dungeons are the hardest thing to write, approach with caution and use sparingly. WG8: Fate of Istus Setting: AD&D 1st/2nd Edition, Greyhawk Characters: Novice up Written by: Nigel Findley, Dan Salab, Stephen Inniss, Robert J. Kuntz Year: 1989 New spells: None New magical items: None New creatures: None What you get: 128 page booklet Summary: Ten adventures detailing various cities of Greyhawk, where a great plague has struck that can only be averted by great heroes. Notes: This is a lengthy module which updates the Greyhawk world to 2nd Edition AD&D. The goddess Istus is testing the world, and subsequently eliminates "unworthies" like assassins and monks while transforming bards and rangers to conform to 2nd Edition. It is a length campaign modules which takes characters from novice to 8th level.
WG9: Gargoyle Setting: AD&D 2nd Edition, Greyhawk Characters: 4-6 of levels 2-4 Written by: Dave Collins with Skip Williams Year: 1989 New spells: ??? New magical items: ??? New creatures: Gargoyle of the Tors What you get: ??? Summary: The characters adventure in the small town of Rockburgh- On-The-Marsh, trying to solve a mystery concerning a special sort of city gargoyle which lose their wings. Personal notes Another in the comedy style, jokes are hard to translate and don't always travel well. Has the dreaded hand of Skip Williams upon it, a man who has a vast knowledge of the game but who labours under the impression we all have his sense of humor. WG10: Child's Play Setting: AD&D 2nd Edition, Greyhawk Characters: for levels 13-15 Written by: Jean Rabe with Skip Williams Year: 1989 New spells: None New magical items: None New creatures: None What you get: 22 page booklet with cover Summary: Rhesdain's Queen has summoned adventurers to a meeting concerning matters of grave importance. This is a mystery story with a sense of humour: the heroes must try to find the Queen's champion who can help them save the Queen's kingdom. Notes: This tournament dungeon comes with pre-generated characters. Personal notes Skip Williams obviously wants to go down in history as the comedy scenario writer, I have met Skip at Gen Con and he is a talented DM capable of great pacing and style, why he continues to push out comedy scenarios is beyond me, Skip they are just not that funny, please please write us a cool scenario.
WG11: Puppets Setting: AD&D 2nd Edition, Greyhawk Characters: 4-6 of levels 1-3 Written by: Vince Garcia with Bruce Rabe Year: 1989 New spells: None New magical items: None New creatures: None What you get: 32 page booklet with cover Summary: Two adventures: guarding a caravan, and solving a small mystery, are detailed in this module.
